The detached villa is located in the center of Vadstena and it is close to shopping, swimming in Vättern and the Castle. Parking is available next to the house. The rooms have a toilet, shower, TV, hairdryer, kettle, iron, ironing board and bubble bath. Slottstugan is located on the entrance floor. History The castle cottage In 1895, the old tobacco factory, which had previously been a sugar mill, was converted into a mental hospital for male patients. Then it was also necessary to build an official residence for the chief doctor (Stora Slottsvillan) and the old villa that had been a private villa became a residence for junior doctors (Lilla Slottsvillan). The entire park was fenced off to become rest areas for the patients. As a result, there was thus only one entrance to the Asylum (hospital).
