History of Slottsflygeln Those of you who live in Slottsflygeln and are interested in history have a lot to learn here. This building was originally a sugar factory built in 1871. The premises of the sugar mill were converted into a tobacco factory. Snuff and tobacco were manufactured here until 1895, when the building was again transformed into a mental hospital (asylum) for male patients. The entire park was fenced off to become rest areas for the patients. The asylum was in use until 1973. In 1986 it was rebuilt into residential apartments and a city library.
